The Sacramento Business Forum
The Sacramento Business Forum is a free business networking forum and directory for businesses in Sacramento County, Placer County, and El Dorado County. Features include a member directory that shows your business name, phone number, a link to your profile, and a link out to your web site if you have one. Our forums also let you share information about your business with others, and participate in a discussion in how to effectively market your business online.
On a technical level, the Sacramento Business Forum is based on Drupal, a very flexible, free, open source Content Management System. Drupal powers major sites such as The Onion and Amnesty International, but it's also very appropriate for small to medium sized community forums like the Sacramento Business Forum. Drupal also works well if you need to push large amounts of content to your site regularly -- though depending on your needs and the site configuration you want, Wordpress also works well for this.
Working with Drupal for the Sacramento Real Estate Forum has given us another great open source tool to use for our clients' sites, and we're pleased to offer this pro bono site for those who would simply like a directory listing for their business.
